Two-Family House

Two-Family House

A two-family house with two separate residential units, with a body consisting of two connected but functionally independent parts for two families.

The designed building retains the form and scale characteristic of the neighborhood and continues the architectural forms of the surroundings, also by using natural façade materials – plaster, sandstone, and ceramic tiles.

The house stands in the higher part of the plot, on the existing terraces.

The two parts are located on a common basement floor, which includes two-car garages, boiler rooms with the laundry rooms, and storage for each of the units. The basement part of the building will be completely hidden under the rising ground (except for garage entrances). The entrance to the ground floor levels leads through field stairs overcoming two natural slopes intended for lawns.

Access via off-road steps (with access for pushchairs) overcoming two slopes resulting from the natural ascent of the plot towards the west. On the ground floors, there is the daytime part of the house: a vestibule, a living room functionally and spatially connected with a kitchen with a pantry, and a dining room. In addition, there are a toilet and a dressing room by the vestibule. The living room and dining room have access to the terrace on the south side of the building. Stairs lead to other floors – to the basement and the first floor and attic. The first floors feature a family bedroom with a walk-in wardrobe, two children's bedrooms, and a large bathroom. In the attic, there is a bathroom with a sauna and a single-space room on the slanting roof.

Each part of the house has been designed with a gable roof with a 45-degree pitch covered with ceramic tiles, delimited by gable walls with finials characteristic of the higher buildings in the neighborhood.

It is a modern continuation of the architectural form of the immediate surroundings and at the same time, it fits into the diversity of the surrounding buildings.
